On Monday 23 January, we were honoured to be asked to sing at the launch of this year's Holocaust week in Torfaen, an event that was attended by the First Minister, Carwyn Jones, amongst many other honoured guests. (report here).
We received many compliments on the children's singing, in fact Heidi found it hard to get out of the building, so many people were stopping her to sing our praises!
Later on in the week, we sang at a fundraising concert for Olivia's appeal (website here). Again, we had many compliments from our audience, who I understand particularly enjoyed the rousing rendition of a medley from "The Sound of Music", for which the Nidus Singers joined the children. We were thrilled to hear that the concert raised £300 for this very worthy cause.
We have also had some time for fun - many members of the choir were able to take part in the choir trip to the cinema on Sunday 22 Jan, to see either Puss in Boots, or Warhorse. A good time was had by all, and thanks to Cineworld for their help in organising this.
