It really is non-stop for us at the moment.
Last Wednesday saw Nidus starring on "Wedi Saith" the Welsh "One Show" equivalent on S4C. The children sang and some of the Welsh speaking children were interviewed about the planned trip to Cincinnati and the forthcoming Cardiff half marathon. On Thursday, the children entertained the pensioners of Panteg and New Inn. When the concert was over, the host was literally speechless in his admiration for the way the children sang. We tried out a couple of new songs, which may sound a little "work in progress" at the moment, but no doubt the children will have polished them to their usual high standards very soon. Sunday saw three of the choir dads running in the Cardiff half marathon (along with 14,997 other runners!). Nick Dunbar, Neil Hopkins and Mo Williams took on the challenge manfully, and (considering none of them are exactly in the first flush of youth!) completed the course in very impressive times. While the dads were running, the children were entertaining runners and volunteers alike in the Barnardos runner's reception area. The enthusiasm the children showed for the singing may well have had something to do with the plentiful supply of cake... Nick, Neil & Mo were given a rapturous welcome by the children when they arrived "home" (so much so that the other people in the reception assumed that they were celebrities!). It is really inspiring to see people put themselves out like this for our cause, and we are really grateful to the three of them. Final sponsorship totals aren't in yet, but we will be reporting back on this once we have the information. Watch this space!
